The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
The parish of St. Coleman’s welcomes all those inquiring about the Catholic faith. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (or “RCIA” for short) is the process for adult persons being initiated into the Catholic Church through Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion.
The RCIA journey and process serves
• Adults who have never been baptized
• Adults who have been baptized in another Christian tradition
• Adults who were baptized Catholic but have had no instruction in the faith or have not received the Sacraments of First Eucharist and/or Confirmation.
Sharing & Exchange—
RCIA is not an adult educational series of lectures or merely a lecture series on the Catechism—it is first and foremost a discernment and preparation process. Meetings provide a safe space essential for participants to share openly. Respecting the vulnerability inherent in this process, we limit the meetings to those going through this process, religious education team members, clergy, and sponsors.
Meetings are weekly, Tuesday evenings, 7pm—9pm.
Meetings begin mid-September and go through Easter. Register in person in August and early September at our Religious Education office or after Sunday Masses. We are excited to journey with you!
Registration for RCIA 2019—2020
Registration begins Sunday morning, August 04, 2019. If you would like to register, we invite you to stop by our table in the Overflow Room and pick up a Registration Package in the Church following Sunday 7:30, 9:00, 11:00am or 12:30pm Masses.
You can also register at the Religious Education Office Monday—Wednesday, 9am—5pm, and Thursdays, 9am—Noon, beginning August 5.
